Just curious who carries the cz 858 folding stock version? from what I can tell only wolverine has them... And for you guys who have added the folding stock, how is the fit and feel compared to the wood stock?

My cz came with the fixed stock and i put the military folder just to see and i switched back to my fixed stock. The folding stock is not comfortable, accuracy suffer and its not a good choice if you scope your cz. For my part, better stick with the fixed stock.

I am afraid that I will give you a different opinion than svt1940. I had the fixed stock and I installed a folder and really like it. It is not perfect by any means, but I feel that it fits better and looks better too - for me that is. The smooth but plate on the folder does not offer the best purchase on shoulder, and the metal arm part is mighty cold in the winter, but I still like it better. The only other option that I would consider is an adjustable M4 styled stock, etc. Perhaps the best of both worlds.

The Mil-issue folder isn't the greatest IMO. It's about 4" too short for me and is just too small all around. There are plenty of options available to you though if you want a folding stock. I only have one because it came with the gun. I'll be switching out for something fancier when my gun gets back from Rauch.

Not comfortable, it's a thin sharp piece of steel riding under your cheek bone... I much prefer the wood/resin stock.

There are many stock options out there, but they are not cheap. Be prepared to dish out some big bucks.

That would be relative to what a person considers cheap. For something that can offer someone a big upgrade in the feel and fit of their rifle I don't think +/-$200 is unreasonable. I have spent more than the cost of my rifle on upgrades and I am still going. Bit of an addiction I think:redface:.

I have mine set up as a sidefolding/collapsing.

I agree the upgrades are worth it but some of the stocks I have seen are a might more than $200.

I have been looking at the FAB recoil reducing one for $130ish. Not that the 858 needs a reduction in recoil, it is just that it would seem that style would be more ergonomic.

I own two rifles. Restricted has the folding stock while non-restricted has the CZ aftermarket skeleton stock.

Folding stock has had copper water pipe insulation (black stuff) added. With the added 1/2" of insulation the rifle mounts perfectly (sights are aligned). Without the mount it is a little cold and you have to move your head around to align the sights. Stock is too short if I use the traditional hold (left shoulder forward - right shoulder back). If I square up my stance as is the fashion these days the stock works perfectly.

I put the factory folder on mine after i bought it with the full stock. If you are a little fancy and have never shot a gun in your life i can see the metal being a little too rough on your pasty white cheek. However, if you know that a gun kicks, its really not too bad at all, and all the other plastic abominations look like #### to me. i haven't found that accuracy has suffered, and i too will be wrapping the metal in paracord, not that its necessary.

Thanks for all the input... I really like the look of the military folding stock.. However sounds uncomfortable.... and I do have longer ams.. so not sure this would really work well for me.
