cz 858 fore-end

just finished painting the "wood" replacement parts for my cz 858 what is the correct why to remove the fore-end grip it looks like a roll pin holding it in place but both ends of it have been spread out to hold it in place or do I have to replace that part? a badly bent one showed up in the spare parts kit.
