Anyone find the lower hand guard retaining pin is really loose in the hole? Mine keeps falling out the side. I had to order a new one from Wolverine because I lost my last one. Any ideas how to get it to stick (couldn't find anything on the forum except that home hardware part). I'd like to use the factory Czeck pin.

You are probably missing the metal clip that holds the guard and gives the pin something to lock in... My aftermarket furniture fits better than the original beaver barf (slightly larger) and everything fits tight, including the pin.

Buy another pin, but if you don't have the metal clip (you haven't said if it's there), it will most likely not fit properly.

The majority of my cz rifles dont even have the metal clip on them anymore and they dont rattle, move, slide, bink, boink, or lose pins.

Its just a roll pin...they don't really have tight manufacturing tolerances. His could have been too small to begin with, or removed and reinstalled at some point. Or, the holes in the receiver could have been drilled too big. Home Depot or Canadian Tire should have something that'll work.

The 1st one fit tight, I had to tap it out. Some of it flaked so maybe there was a ring or flare on the end. But then how would you ever remove the handguard? Basically I'd like to install some Picatinny rails on it.

Update: I put 2 short layers of electronic tape between the hand guard and the steel piece that the pin goes through. Then I drove the pin through with the bayonet. That worked well to create enough tension in there. We'll see how it holds next time we fire it.

Yes the roll pins are usually flared on an end, if you punch it out from both sides the flares are nomore thus he would lose the pin. Go to crappy tire or home depot and take a gander at wht they have and maybe you wil come up with something a ;little better then a roll pin after all.

If you really want to put a piece of electrical tape just on the inside groove on the back of the handguard where the roll pin usually sits, push the handguard into place and tap in a roll pin. It should hold it, if not look at above post ^^^^

Hey that's what I did (the electrical tape). See my previous post. Electrical tape has done wonders for me and my firearms. I coupled some magazines together with it as well (wrapped 2 small pieces of cardboard between the magazines to create a good spacer).
