cz-858 mag release

Ok.. I've been waiting a long time for the Ambi Mag release to come back from Zahal.

I checked it out today and see....... something different.

Instead of the flat 2-Dimensinal release which I know works like a dream.. it 's a 3d "double pyramid" shaped thing.

Anyone have experiences with this? does it work the same?

My fear is that when I used the filled mag to depress the mag-release it might glance off the release "flange" because it is no longer flat ( or could be smaller).

Anyways only experimentation will tell.

We're looking to see if more of the flat-panel units can be made available.

We'll also run a few tests on the new models and report back!
 
I'm just gonna give my two cents. Please take with a grain of salt. I have used both the old (FLAT 2D) and new ambimag release ( 3D) both from Zahal.
( I somehow lost one of my Flat 2D shipments in the mail from Zahal to my chagrin... $70+ down the drain.)

The new ambimags are made to contour your index finger....but are smaller and left hand side doesn't extend beyond the left side of the receiver.. so harder to access when shooting left handed. In my opinion the flat models are superior for tactical rifle games when changing mags. Nevertheless the 3d model is decent and can do the job with a bit more hand/eye coordination, so If you are in the market for an ambi mag release , I wouldn't let the new shaped releases stop you from going to Zahal.
