I have a sudden interest in this rifle, and I understand it comes with just a thread protector on the business end. I'd like to hear about peoples experiences with muzzle brakes. In order of preference, I'm looking for:

Effective, or why bother

Issue bayonet still fits, because 5 rounds might not be enough to stop a zombie

Doesn't look too out of place

Cheap, because The Party takes so much for the greater good

Blasty doesn't bother me. It keeps others away when I'm shooting.

why would you keep a 5 round mag in a lawless zombie apocalypse ?

corwins arms do sell a few muzzle break

I'm interested in a break as well. I've heard that the AK slant type has a tendency to over compensate on an NR barrel. The hybrid type at corwin arms is interesting. Paging Bflies.

I run the CZ original brake,do a good job on muzzle rise since the 858 is a light rifle. Not really needed ofc, i just wanted to try the issued brake.

I have heard that the original one is pretty good. Any idea where to get one? I don't even know what that one looks like.

I ordered a D-Force Brake from Zahal along with a fiber optic front post today. I read a lot of complaint about the slanted brake. And the D-Force is the shortest one I could find.
Ordered a side folder on eBay as well. Cant wait to finally try one of these rifles.

That looks pretty sharp. It's a shame the slant brake has a bad rap. I like the look of it, and it's short.

I just picked up a new one right b4 the wolverine sale it came with the vortex flash hider on it. I was told it's very effective but have not yet fired it. I want the AK style slant brake. Looks cool and from what I have seen performance is good

I've been using the AK slant brake from Corwin, no cheek-slap at all. However I haven't tried any other brakes so I have nothing to compare it to as far as muzzle-climb reduction goes. Tempted to try out that new D-force model, seems like it would be a good fit for our 18" barrels.

I can't see with reason why you would want want one. Sure you can dial back in slightly quicker for a follow up shot but honestly, how far are you off target with x39 ammo? Not that far in my view. The break doesn't improve accuracy and it blows back(ish) so if the shtf you can reacquire your 3-4 inch MOA and not hear your wife yelling there are zombies behind you.

The best I've tried have been the original Slovakian issue and the Czech Special Forces issue compensators. Sure they are heavy and long but they do the job the best.

The Antonin Zendl is supposed to be the best because it compensates for either left or right hand shooters. Problem is the lack of testing on a 19" barrel. I asked him myself and he said original barrel length for best results.
