I've owned two CZ-858's now as well as having a couple of spare carriers on hand from VZ-58 parts kits and all the stripper clip guides or slots seem too large for the clips.
I have always wondered why the SKS seems to grip the stripper so well while the VZ/CZ seems quite sloppy in comparison...the loaded clip seems to just "float around" in the slot and it's finicky to load.
I am using M43 Czech surplus ammo on the clips provided.
It's something that's always bothered me and was hoping someone knew the reason.

That seems odd.

My SKS and 858 are fed from the same Czech surplus stripper clips and I haven't noticed a real "loose" feeling on the 858. It loads from the stripper clips just fine. Possibly the slots are machined just a bit large on your 858"s?

Czech stripper clips are made for the vz58 , the Czech do not make sks so it should fit your cz858 perfectly, I think you are using it wrong, see the stub on the side of the stripper clip? Slide that down the carrier , it should fit perfectly .

Interesting point to bring up, I had a CZ 858 a few months ago before I sold it and this was the same issue I had with the stripper clips being sloppy. I too wondered why that was too.

Well that makes sense, I was wondering why the czech clips were so tight on my sks.
