Question for the group. Ii'm a big fan of both the VZ-58 and CZ-858 and have several to prove it. I know that quite a number of DIY mods have been built and discussed, some better or easier than others.

Has anyone ever DIY'd a tac bolt release?

Not trying to step on the toes of NEA/Neit - I've bought cantilever scope rails and stock adapters and think their products are top notch. I'm just curious, as the piece itself does not appear to be especially large or complicated. (Maybe I'm completely wrong about the complication part....).

CZ-858 Tac Bolt Release - Anybody DIY'd one? Yes, somone has!

Found this on another website

Here you go

Thanks very much. I thought there must be a way - this guy's obviously found one. I wonder what material he used for the actuating handle - looks like it's covered in that plastic steel putty....

Anyhow, a good starting point - working from former art is always easier.

Cheers:D

Neit Arms is now part of NEA, but I don't see the release on their website. Would be a nice addition. With the M14 all you have to do is put slight pressure on the handle with your trigger finger and let it go. No such thing with the CZ.

I will guess he welded some material on to the existing pin and shaped it with a dremel with a function over form mentality.

Well, blob and grind evidently produced a working result, even if it's not the prettiest lever.

Saw the ad for the NEA/NEIT bolt releases at Wolverine; I'm also trying to get more info about the B.C. Tactical release, which is apparently a different design.
