Hey guys, I did a search, and didn't come up with much. Might be sort of a simple question, but here goes: is there much of a point for a bolt release on the CZ/VZ rifles when shooting left handed? I definitely see the point when shooting right handed, and being able to actuate it with your index finger. But when shooting left, I'm wondering if its useful/quicker than just slapping the bolt?

The reason I put one on my gun was because as a righty, the bolt handle was on the wrong side. Its almost like the bolt itself is designed for lefties. I have to reach over the top of the gun to actuate it if I dont want to release the grip.
The tactical bolt release is great for me but ive never tried using my left hand and actuating it with my thumb... I think it could be possible. But it may just be easier to slap the bolt.

Thats a mag release, not a bolt release.
Just tested my bolt release while holding the gun left handed and there is definitely no way you can reach it with your thumb... but getting to the bolt handle is SUPER easy, so I would say, no point in it for lefties. Mag release on the other hand is nearly a must have.

Ya, it's way too far ahead to reach with a thumb when shooting left. The only benefit I could see, when shooting left, and rocking a mag in with my right hand, my thumb (on my mag changing/right hand) is pretty much exactly in the location of a bolt release, so it would be in one continuous motion with the mag change. But like you said, the bolt is so easy to get at when shooting left, I'm not sure it would be worth the $70+.
The factory mag release is actually in a decent spot, I can hit it with my index finger no problem, but I ordered the dlask one strictly because it has more surface area, and I like the extended lower portion that I could use ad well.
