Howdy. Well here is my Range Report on this really neat little assault rifle the CZ-858 Tactical. I sold my SKS to help purchase one of these and let me tell you. It was well worth it.
The first thing you will notice is how light and easy to shoulder this weapon is. Also it's accuracy with mil surp 7.62mm x 39 Cech ammo as compared to an SKS. Well there is no comparison. This little rifle will out shoot any SKS in my opinion.
Although much lighter than an SKS, it's recoil is not much more noticable. Infact the design of the weapon personally for me allowed a less noticable recoil than my old SKS.
I first fired the weapon at 50m to test grouping and POI. The grouping was good however the POI was about six to ten inches high. Windage was zero. So after some slight front blade elevation adjustments I managed to get a quick zero.
The 100m distance was my bench mark. My shooting position was sitting supported. Temperature was minus one degree, with a north east wind. Target was north of my position. I fired five rounds under one minute.
Here is a pic of the Factory test target. I assume the distance was 50m, however I can't tell by reading the target. If anyone out there knows what distance the CZ factory uses to test fire please post it on this thread.
Cleaning the CZ is somewhat more of a time consuming chore (IF CLEANING YOUR GUNS IS CONSIDERED A CHORE
) But there are more parts to clean than an SKS for sure, and getting at it quick is important after firing corrosive ammunition.
