CZ 858 Upper Wood Handgaurd removal??

Im trying to remove the CZ 858 upper hand guard metal and replace it for a new one so i can have a perfect wood stock. I been messing around with all my handguards and I cant put a dent of taking it off. Its driving me nuts.

Do you bend the inner tabs??? Am I missing something? I tried of 4 and cant do it on any! GRRRRR.

Fold one of the tabs back and rotate in that direction. Be careful as they tend to break if too much pressure is used.

ok, Got them all off and stabbed my self in the palm in the mean time trying the bend them back. God did it ever hurt. Their has to be a better way

I cut the wood with a dremel, work well

I've never seen that pin as well, just the 2 tabs.

Not sure how that works My cz858 upper handguard had it. When canadianbaconpancakes said his didn't I thought maybe just the cz858's had it. So I checked the the one that came on the CSA vz58 I bought last fall and it has it too. I'll have to look at the other couple I have.

There are still 2 tabs holding the wood to the metal gas tube...

There are still 2 tabs holding the wood to the metal gas tube...

The piece with the tabs rotates with the wood/beaver barf/polymer after that pin is pushed. It's separate from the other metal hardware. That's what keeps the wood from moving when installed. I'll take pics when I get home and post tonight
