I would say M14 all the way. The M14s are very accurate, dependable, and versatile; you can hunt, shoot service rifle and blast with it at the range. 7.62X39 is fun for blasting at the range, but the ballistics are pretty lame compared with 7.62X51. The main draw for me with 7.62X39 was case lots of cheap ammunition, but this is beginning to dry up and the prices have gone up substantially since I got my first case. Also I don't know about you but I'm not sure how comfortable I would be firing corrosive ammunition through a 600 dollar plus rifle. While it is now possible to accessorize the CZ to some degree, there is infinitely more things you can do with an M14. If you get tired of shooting it with Iron sights, you can get a mount, scope and cheek piece and convert it to a sniper rifle accurate beyond 600 yards. Personally I love the looks of the M14, and find its lineage and history very interesting and would recommend it to anyone as a must have for any collection. While the CZ is also cool, I would say owning one for me at least would be more of a luxury as opposed to an essential part of a collection.
