CZ 858 vs type 81 vs CZ 958 what would you get ?

The cz858 even with the gremlin is an incredible rifle.
Super light and handy, very fast to point and transition, even with that spaghetti noodle barrel. Handyness rivals an AR. I would say out of all our nr semi tactical rifles it is the queen. The parts are top notch quality. x39 is super fun to shoot, and at this moment relatively cheap to shoot. Ok 5 rounds, but so what guys!

Wolverine is a great shop, they've done a lot for us, clearly going above and beyond.

Ive experienced the gremlin perhaps once in all my years shooting it.

I have an 858 on rte type 81 ordered if the 958s become available I'll grab one of them as well. There are very few things I life you can never have to many of.

1. Ammo
2. Firearms
3.books
4.money
5. Knowledge

I agree that they are great rifles and perhaps the best all around deal in Canada. Also, the gremlin can be fixed with a quick weld-job otherwise known as getting it tabbed and eliminates all gremlins as far as I know.

None for this guy.
Way too much cash for any of the options.
My love of Comm Bloc 7.62x39mm bullet hoses died a couple years ago. The novelty wore off pretty quick. Dumping hundreds of rounds of corrosive ammo with mediocre-at-best accuracy as fast as I could just for the sake of doing it got old pretty quick. Once I started actually caring about hitting what I was aiming at consistently and accurately I quickly lost interest in those styles of guns.
I owned a CZ858 and a couple SKS's for a while and sold them all shortly after that. Don't miss them personally.
Just my two cents.

IMHO let the guinea pigs AKA impulse buyers get the T81 and then post a WTB in the EE.I have many CZ and yes i will get another one just to let it sit in grease for years.

I love my 858, is on the never sell list. I will get a type 81 when they actually land in canada. For now, the 858 is best since we cant really compare without having both rifle in hands. I have no interest in the 958.

858 has my vote, it's super light. I've actually handled it (unlike the 81) and really liked it. I was going to pre-order a 81 but I just think the 858 is a better gun and bought one this weekend. I'm biased to europe and north american products though.

Has anyone here other then myself actually got to play with the Type 81?!?!?!?
I own several CZ/VZ rifles and love them dearly but considering the type 81 isn't here for us to compare and the 958 is NOT coming, OP your best bet then is to either buy a used 858, new vz58 or wait and see what the type 81 is like
