So I just received my new 858 from Wolverine Supplies who are great people

I got it with the b&t ar magwell adapter and it won't chamber a round it slams the round into the outer edge of the chamber and flattens the nose of the bullet

So I tried it with the mag well off and used the CZ mags and still the same issue

Just so no one thinks I'm nuts I have a Nother 858 without the magwell mod and it never did this and dosnot do it now as I tried it just to be sure.

Am I doing something wrong or has anybody else run into this problem.

Any help would be great.

If not I will have to call wolverine for a return.

Thanks

Hmmmmm well I think this should be red rifle section material. Also if this is an early model CZ then that is a problem. First thing to do is call them adn see what is up tomorrow. If this is a new gun then I would not touch it without instruction from them.

Just something to try. The xcr mags are really fussy, I tap mine against the wood bench to make sure rounds are all the way to the back. This is the only way I can get them to come out nose up.

Okay, I'm confused... You're using an AR magwell adapter on a CZ 858? The 858 is ONLY in 7.62x39 isn't it?

I 'think' you mean that you're using a AR magwell adapter on a CSA 58 in 223? That would make MUCH MORE SENSE!

Can you post pics?

Cheers
Jay
P.S. I'm thinking of picking up a CSA 58 in 223 from Wolverine when they go on sale for $399... Interested in sorting out this issue you are having before then...

The B&T adapter is specifically for the 858s in 7.62x39. Intended to get 10 rd capacity by using the XCR 7.62 pistol mags.

This indicates that it's not an issue with the magwell, but something else.

+1 I have to do the same thing with mine.

was yours the pre-machined 858 that wolverine just listed this week?
Wolverine test fires all these conversions i thought....

Read the original post again... He says he's having the same issue with the original CZ mags, leading me to believe it is a different issue than the conversion kit.

When the milling is done, most of the feed ramp is removed. This leaves a vertical, flat face that is just in front of the adapter and extends aprx. 1/8" above it.

As the bolt moves forward, the top round will lodge against the flat face if the tip of the bullet does not lift enough.

I don't know why you guys are doing this. The vz58 is a gret gun and guys are wrecking them just so they can use ten round magazines. Seems silly to me.
