I improvised a 'scout mount', using the stock parts...just used a top rail meant for a Benelli R1...used epoxy, and some countersunk metal screws to fix it in place...it's low enough that you can still use the iron sights with the red dot removed.
I have an Aimpoint with a Larue mount, but you could just as well use an Eotech (of which I have two on other firearms).
I have also fitted one of the Infratek folding stocks, replacement grip, as well as one of the large muzzle brakes offered by Wolverine Supplies..
As we speak, I have a VZ58 inbound, and have another grip, folder and brake ready to mount...I have a feeling it'll be a little 'handier' than the 858.

Wow that looks like a long gun. With the extra long barrel and the long break, that gun starts to look mighty dis-proportionate in a hurry. I can see why you'd be interested in a true length 58.

Foxbat, I'm interested to know whether or not it's working for you and holding POI. I had red dots mounted to mine and even with replacing the take down pin with a screw and wingnut the top cover managed to shake loose and rattle.

This was taken from the Wolverine website....

That's why I used screws which extended down into the metal heat shield over the gas system..
I have to admit that the whole system lacks 'sub MOA' accurracy potential, but with these guns with a red dot, I'm happy with 'Minute of Brisket'...i.e. putting 5 rounds within a 5" circle at 100 yards...plenty good enough!:D
