So I got the pick of the litter CZ. test target around 3/4"; shot great with the (slanted) open sights. 200 yard gong (discer blade around 18") every time with the open sights. bought an al top guard from buddy - tight, no play on the gas port, installed a bushnell (I know, I know!) red dot that worked fine on my .303 and .50 bp. With the wood stock it seemed to be as or better accuracy than the irons. Chunked on the factory (mil) folder and I can't hit diddly. POA/POI seem ok but the gong is just not ringing as it should. Parallax understood and compensated for, same ammo. Pulled off the red dot and used the irons - same thing. Just wondering if anybody else has same problem folding stock wise? changing back to the wood and will check - no test targets just subjective.

comments?

Thanks

One of my buddies was getting awful grouping with his folder too.. he switched to a full stock and things tightened up nicely

I tried the military folding stock and i switched back to the fixed one. I found that the folder is less then ideal to get accurate shot. Even if my folder is tight, doesnt help much. Look great but i still prefer the fixed one, more useful and comfortable.

Roger that. I am guessing it's just a stock issue (thanks!) but after free floating multiple barrels (and improving the groups by inches) for myself and others I am a little curious as to the effect of gas port tightness/fit to group size. ??

sorry - to be a little clearer - the top guards seem to vary in fit. my factory wood was "snug". My aftermarket aluminum is "pound the pin with a screwdriver" while i recall on my buddys CZ it was sloppy.??
Must have an effect on zero if not group size?
