Well I only saw two of them in action the other day at the range, shot it and had to have one. So one came up and I bought it without really doing any research. Are these good little rifles? Pricy buggers but they look cool and those two guys at the range seemed to be getting good groupings at 100m. Looked better than my old SKS was doing.

Awesome rifles...besides the über pricey Valmet hunter it is as close to an AK as we are going to legally get.

If I had the cash I would buy one over an SKS D any day.

I know mine is a Hungry little bastard.I keep feeding and feeding it lots of ammo and it just wont stop.

i know the feeling. i bot one last week, havent shot it yet, so far im very impress with it.

i agree with calum, i rather buy CZ858 over a SKS-D and it really isnt that pricey when you consider all those accessories ($150 value) that comes along with it, 4 of 30/5 round mags , bayo, cleaning kit , sling and very nice leather mag pouch. im happy:D
 
very happy with my 858. out of about 250 rounds of the surplus ammo i had two FTF's compared to the 50% rate i get with my sks-d, and unlike the sks-d it accepts stipper clips so it's quick to reload
 
Cool thanks guys. I actually have it on layaway, went into the gun shop today to put more coin down on it and gave her a good cleaning right there on the gun counter.

Bought a case of ammo and now am just in a holding pattern. My SKS is getting worried....

my Cz was coated with a light oil so there was not much to clean, just a light wiping with a rag , there was some grease in the mag springs tho..... not like my SKS which took me a few hours to get rid of the heavy coating of cosmoline.

looks like mine . dont bother to use expensive american eagle ammo cos i did and the CZ did not like it, several jams. the surplus czech ammo works best.

give us a range update.
 
Glad you finaly got her.Now go out and buy all the ammo you can afford.Like I said before they are hungry little bastards.

That's why I sold the SKS, so I only have to feed one baby. This is all I have left.:(

every member should have a SKS, its cheap enuff. cheaper than a case of ammo you feed the CZ.

besides , i like going to the range with 2 rifle , especially if i have someone with me .

the nices part of having the SKS and the CZ at the range, i only carry one type of ammo. :D
 
lol i wish i had that much ammo left.i got mine in december and have eaten two boxes up so far.she is a really hungry girl lol.but i love feeding her. out of 2300 rounds so far i had 2 fail to fire.i put them back in and bang bang they went down range.it made a dimple on the primer but i guess it didnt hit hard enough.otherwise this has been an awesome rifle love it.

.i had the other brake on the one with the small holes and well i took it off it was a pain to clean. this brake is very nice to be honest not really sure how much it does though lol.i will have to try it with out.ever since ive had this rifle ive had a brake on it.but the cool factor is there lol .my big beef with it is that it doesnt seat right against the barrel.so what is happening is the gases are forcing there way on to the threads.i had it almost sieze on there after 3oo rounds.i did clean it right after i got back from shooting.it took me and my roomie to get it off.what i see needs to be done is the end the threads in the base of it is tapered it should be made flat and then turn the end down till it can screw into it farther.or what i have done is just used never sieze on the threads and its been good ever since.

are these rifles and sks's like it restricted or non?? possibly a stupid question but my mom always said. "the only stupid question is the one you don't ask" :)
