I'm a rifle guy not a shotgunner. So that being said, a CZ 912 for 600 bucks or a Stoeger M2000 for 500 bucks to use once in a while? Hard to clean/maintain? Quality?

Thanks.

The Stoeger shotguns are pretty nice for the price. I would recommend looking for a used/on sale M3000 so you have more options.

I'm not sure about the M2000, but the 3/3500 share a lot of technology with the Benelli's.

I have shot a 912 a couple times and it was a nice firearm. Almost all CZs are, I own several of their rifles. If you are a wood guy (like I am) the CZ is the way to go. Its not actually blued, but the finish is nice and I suspect long lasting, very similar to the Beretta 686S black chrome. What I don't like is the "912" in white, but that's just me, I don't put racing stripes on my car either. I have seen the 912 work with light target loads and heavier hunting loads. It is already a 3" gun..

That said, both are good value.

I have a 912 and love it. They are prone to breaking the hammer tho, happened to me. If it does, the best fix is a replacement U.S. made one that CZ USA made up. Had the original action spring wear out at about the 10,000 round mark which happens eventually regardless of brand. Great value as far as I'm concerned. Not familiar with M2000 but a buddy loves his M3500.

For affordable inertia gun M3500 even though you might not need 3.5" due to the M2000 is an old model and those with white front bead tends to have the recoil spring coiled up and jam under the forend.

And for gas gun I will opt for either the Maxus or SX3 (being discontinuted and dealers are trying to get clear them out cheap).

But again gun fitment shouldn't be overlook as well.
