In April I got a smoking deal on this lovely rifle from Nechako Outdoors! I couldn't resist the deal at $595 with a spare mag.

It's such a nice light compact rifle. I like the bolt handle but I'm not sure what to make of the safety? I guess I'll get used to it?

I went with medium height Weaver Grand Slam steel rings and a Bushnell Elite 2-7x32 scope as it just 'looks right' on this little rifle.

Here's a couple pics...

Range results with 3 factory offerings... Sellier & Bellot was the clear winner!

I have one too… bought for $799 with 200 rounds of Winchester FMJ ammo. Shoots incredibly well. I have started reloading for it. I am down to .5” at 100 yards. With a cheap Bushnell Banner scope. I added a bipod too…. But did not like it, added too much weight. It’s going to be my WT gun. IMG_1665.jpegIMG_3066.jpeg

I got one of them from Nechako on that deal as well. Couldn't say no to it. I'd handled them at my LGS before and liked it, but didn't like the 1100$ price tag they had on the gun, so it stayed there. But for approx. 660$ shipped to my door with a spare mag, it was completely worth it.

No pics but mine is wearing a Leupold VX-3i 2.5-8x36 in low Vortex pro rings. Took me a bit to get it all together but I'll be sighting it in this weekend, along with a T3x in 223. I'll likely be rotating between the 2 for deer rifles this year.

Its a much more compact and handier gun then I would of thought. I aswell couldn't say no at the Nechako deal. Ive found that the bolt lift on mine is very very heavy does anyone eles have the same problem?

Also curious on ammo. I have a bolt gun in 762x39 and norinco Redbox seems to be loaded hot. And flattens primers and causes hard bolt lifts.

I have the same issue with Red box in a Howa mini. Had no problems with various surplus ammo, just Norinco red box causing hard extraction. What rifle you using? Also curious on CZ extraction on surplus and Norinco rounds..

It’s a savage axis 2 scout. I had to upgrade the extractor. It still has an issue here and there extracting. But far less than before. I shimmed the firing pin a little bit too as it was having light primer strikes with surplus ammo

Try MFS RUAG 7.62×39mm 124 Gr FMJ from Tenda Canada. I've been shooting it for a while and I'm very happy. With my two Howa Minis in 7.62x39mm, both regular and Chassis, I get 0.8-1.2+-0.3 MOA from 5 to 10, three shot groups.

What ammunition are you using?
I tried a whole bunch of different ammo the old Canada ammo lcw/SB/PPU and some surplus.
Even if I dry fire the the bolt lift to cycle the gun is suspiciously heavy its strange. I think I will fully disassemble the bolt when I have time .

What load is that? Currently searching for something less than fist sized groups out of a few x39's. - dan
