Now that there are pistol magazines in 7.62x39 will those magazine adapters coming in work on regular CZ 858's?

I'll have to buy one and find out when they bring them in I guess. I'll probably wait for pics of them on the other rifles first though.

Do you have 5.56 and 7.62 VZ's to compare side by side? I've never seen a 5.56 in person so I'm curious if the internal receiver dimensions and shape is the same or different between the two models.

No I don't. Never really saw the point of the 5.56 other than the mag well adapters.

I'd be more than happy to take Mr. Dremel to one of my 858's if the adapter can be made to fit and it looks promising to feed from a 10 rd. AR mag.

Isn't it a tad counterinuative to take a rifle that runs reliably and add more parts to it? I just can't get behind the idea of adding more parts to a rifle's feed system and expecting great results. I could be wrong though, so here's hoping!

It's worth it for 10 round magazines IMO

If it compromises reliability, how is that a worthy trade off? A guy with 2 5rnd mags will still put rounds down range faster, while a guy with an adapter is doing an immediate action, or just looking at his rifle with a look of disgust and betrayal on his face like he saw his parents f*ckin'.

;)

I'm just putting it out there.

Get a working magwell adapter? Problem solved! Mags are just boxes with a spring if you get down to it.

You're assuming it won't work and that's yet to be seen.

Spending some time and money to see if it will work is worth the effort, IMO. Especially when a working adapter would put AR's and VZ's on equal footing for a 3 gun match.

What about ar15's chambered in 7.62? They must have ar mags for those rifles, question is are 7.62 ar mags the same dimention as a 5.56 mag? If so then I don't understand why a 5.56 mag adapter wouldn't work with a 7.62 magazine in a 7.62 rifle. Like is it just a matter of swapping out a follower in the magazine?

Guys, wolverine supplies sells one made by b&t (brugger & thomet) that lets your cz858 accept robinson xcr 7.62 10 rd pistol mags. I just bought one and 2 mags coupled end to end with a mag wedge couple to make it close to a full size 30rd mag. Look up "machined cz858" on YouTube. Wolverine demos it, works great

I have the b&t magwell adapter and it works very well with 10 round mags in 7.62. Gt it from wolverine.

Requires a tiny bit of machining to fit, got my local smith to do that. Have a few of the xcr pistol mags and they all feed well.
