CZ Bren 2 Ms chambered in 7.62x39mm

Seriously considering importing a 9" Bren from Irungns, any thoughts on the shorter barrel? I have a bunch of 7.62 kicking around and none of the bolt guns are doing it for me (...never should have sold my CZ carbine) Their pricing seems pretty good even after exchange and shipping.
I wouldn't personally go with anything shorter than 11" on a 7.62x39 rifle, but I think it comes to personal preference.

Unless / until Canada allows more suppressors and/or flash hiders, the amount of flash coming out of shorter barrelled Brens is a little much for my tastes when shooting. I mean, if you like fireballs, more power to you!

You get what you like!

Love to see it!

How accessible is the gas valve control through that little window?

What muzzle device did they put on?

Nice stock - that's the HBI HK G36 stock kit?
The gas valve is not very accessible, that is mostly my fault. When Dlask announced the builds 4 months ago and based on the picture that they posted I assumed I was going to get a short gas piston assembly with the NR barrel. I ended up getting the the 13.8 inch HBI handguard that would accommodate the short piston and extra barrel length. Dlask ended up building the barrel with a long gas piston assembly so either the shorter 10.8 inch or the 15.8 inch handguard would have worked better for accessibility. I can still get at the valve with L style Allen wrench from the front, otherwise its 4 torx screws to remove handguard.
The nice thing about the Bren setup is that is all you need take off to swap back to the original 11 inch barrel and short gas system, literally less than 5 minutes and now you have a restricted rifle( if that's what you want or desire to get reclassified). Interestingly there is only a 330 gram weight difference between the 11 inch vs NR 18.6 barrel/gas system rifles(otherwise identically equipped). That said I need to get a lighter optic, that LVPO and rings add almost 1.5 pounds.

The muzzle break is a Surefire Procomp supplied by me, Dlask just provided the bare threaded muzzle.

Yes its the HBI G36 stock.

It definitely looks sleeker with the longer barrel and handguard.

Thanks for answering my previous questions. Follow-up question - I ended up moving my optics further forward because I found that the recoil impulse felt like it was carrying the end of the optic too close to my face/eye. Your optic is even further back than mine was initially mounted - does it have a relatively short eye relief or small eye box?

I do really appreciate the handiness of being able to convert back and forth between 18.6" and 11" - something I may definitely consider in future.

Yeah the eye relief isn't the best. I switched it to Vortex 3x prism, eye relief is also relative crap but I shaved a pound in weight. As pictured its sitting at 7 pound 3 ounces with an empty mag.

Thanks for your answers. I think it's a great rifle and I would recommend it to anyone interested in a 7.62x39 semi-auto.
I obviously have to agree. I am super impressed how well thought out and executed this gun is. I am starting appreciated why the price premium exists over similar firearms.

Corrosive ammo: There was a time when many of us had the CZ 858. Corrosive ammo was our goto.

It’s not an issue. But you have to clean it as soon as you can after the range trip.

1) Hot water. Wash basin in laundry room or garage. Get the water hot. By running the tap.
2) open the action and run the hot water down it, the barrel and piston system.
3) spray inside the barrel, action and gas system with windex. Leave for a few minutes.
4) Run the hot water over the action, in the barrel and gas system again to flush it out.

5) Disassemble and oil etc. The hot water will have dried within 3 minutes if it’s hot enough.

Sounds like a lot. But it’s very fast and easy.

Thanks for the tips! My rifle is restricted so I'm only running it at ranges, and all the ranges I currently have access to don't allow steel core ammo, so that rules out most currently available corrosive ammunition, but it's really good to have that information on hand to use if/when I have an opportunity.

Thanks for the heads up, will probably look into this. Really surprised that there arent more of the 7.62x39 ones in NR length kicking around, one with the newer Haga lowers that takes AK mags would be the end all be all IMO
I'm on the hunt for the lower that takes the ak47 mags got the lower that takes ar15 style mags and only 1 out of 6 promags work in it. The other 5 are incredibly hard to get in and out. Ordered 4 duramags hopefully better luck with them.
FYI all my 223/556 mags work absolutely wonderful in the haga lower

Just a note that Promags are notoriously bad for compatibility and function in almost all makes and models of firearms they are made for.

All my AR-15 Duramags are working beautifully.

I wish you fun and success with your Lingle. They are apparently quite good!

I did order a few duramags hopefully they work well in the haga lower and waiting for the canada post strike to end then I'll order some ak mags and see how the lingle does as well
