CZ Canadian & American 455's .17 HMR - Leupold Rifleman 3-9x40 ?

Actually, I have .22 and .22WMR in each as well, but would like to keep the .17's the same. Does anybody have input on this scope. I like the classic lines of these scopes and would prefer to keep the CZ's classic look. Kind of old fashioned, I know.

Great at longer rimfire distances (100-300 yards) if that's what you shoot most of the time. The lack of an AO or side focus makes it a blurry scope at shorter distances, and parallax error becomes a factor. I tried one on a 22 and it was usable, but created a lot of eye strain.
 
Hmm. Good points. Might be best to look elsewhere. I do sometimes take longer shots, but gopher shooting can be anything from almost nothing & up.

There are lots of decent scopes suitable for what I do, but I want to stay away from huge scopes, and ones with those high turrets.

Thank you for pointing out some possible downsides. :)
