Hello, any czechmate owners on here? just looking for some opionions on an open gun. I've been considering the czechmate for some time. If you don't mind, please list pro's con's for czechmate vs any other open gun.

A close friend who I shoot IPSC with has both a Czechmate, STI Steel Master and Trubor.
I personally like the CZ better, it is significantly heavier, which I like, doesn't seem like as much muzzle rise, shoots very flat.
STI Trubor is also very good, we're just splitting hairs here.

If or when I go Open , it would be with a CZ. Although the new STI DVC Open looks interesting.
Looking forward to seeing it firsthand.

Ever watch the slow motion videos of polymer frames flexing during a shot being taken? It's amazing how they whip around. So I'd suggest that the idea is a non starter before it even gets led to the starting stalls.

Open guns typically have the red dot mount secured to the frame. But there's no hard points molded into the big majority of polymer frames. I've certainly never seen such a thing but one never knows so that's the only reason I said "big majority" and not "never". And I'd be reluctant to try drilling the amount of plastic out that would allow for such hard points to be inserted. So you'd be pretty much limited to the smaller red dots that mount to the slides. But then the red dot is kicking around during firing. So that's far from ideal as well. While such a sight location works the idea of it kicking around will put you at a disadvantage to the guys running with separate mounts.

You might be able to find some up and over RDS mounts that attach to the rail under the front of the frame. But with the leverage and forces from the weight of the RDS and the distance away from the rather small mounting foot area I would expect the plastic would be come rather badly deformed and the mount would forever find itself coming loose as a result.

Contact user 'fast toys' he's fan of the Czechmate. I have never fired one but out of the 3 I have seen running at my club, 2 have cracked their barrels. If you want to get into the open game be prepared to tinker or have a friendly gunsmith. Lots of shooters have used polymer guns in open and there are a ton of aftermarket parts for Glocks to run in open. Long story short, they are not much cheaper and do not perform as well as the 2011/CZ/Tanfo guns.

I'm just asking because I don't know. What makes an sti better? A CZ has full length rails. I'd think that would help with accuracy. Match barrel helps too. So smithing aside, a CZ is cheaper. Just a question because I don't know. Thanks!

Out of the box, a CZ Checkmate is hard to beat. Accurate, fantastic trigger and reliable. I'm not into open division anymore or I'd have one.
1911's are also superb for raceguns. Had an old Les Baer Springfield .38 Super back in the 90's that I loved too.

There's an optical sight solution for Glock guns that is mounted on the slide, not on the frame. But I don't know what happens to them after constant pounding of the slide back and forth :)
