I have put in an 11 lb recoil spring in my cz85c. The problem is that it is quite a bit longer than the stock spring.(11 lb is 5.2" vs 4.5" for factory). When put back together, the spring seems to bind when racking the slide. It is not very smooth. The 13 lb spring is 4.75" and still runs smooth.
I use 124 gr. TMJ with 3.8 gr. titegroup and an OAL of 1.127" for IPSC. This equates to a PF of ~135. Gun runs OK with an occasional lockback (weakwristing?).
Anyhoo, just wondering if this binding is normal or would a longer slide spring guide be of use - if there is one? I guess I could put back the 13 and boost charge a bit. Any thoughts?
