Thinking of trading one of my cz858s for a Norinco CQ...What do you guys think?? Is it worth it?? Wife says do what I want so I have the green light to do it if I want hmmmmmmmm.........

I have been impartial to 858. I think the A4 would be a great idea. I have been kicking the idea of getting one myself. 223 ammo prices are starting to come down. Marstar has a upper in 7.62X39 so you can shoot cheap ammo. For $1800.00 you can have the best of both worlds. There alot of overpriced AR's out there that cost a lot more.

Trading apples for oranges man.

But I will say, so long as you've checked out the AR platform, know what it's about, and can deal with the increased cost of ammunition, go for it.

We need more info.

Personally I would not unless you have a glut of 858s.
If you are set on a common caliber such as X39 there is no real reason to switch and complicate things.

I've got the following calibers but I'm actually considering culling the 223.

X39 Sks, 858
9mm np34, Browning HP, Np-22
12Guage Shotguns of course :D
45-70 1895GS (I love that gun)
223 CQ-556 (may go)
22LR ( m93, 10/22 and various Cooeys -bread and butter)

and I need some sort of longish full power rifle cartridge.

Sure makes things simpler.
Some will disagree and say that you need .35 Wheelen Ackley Improved.
