Good afternoon, I bought a skinner peep for my cz 455 ( standard model with 20 inch barrel and open sights) and it has a factory Williams rear and I thought the front was too until I tried to buy a taller front sight blade and found out its not Williams. Does anyone know what type it is? Lol with the peep its set at about 100 yards. Thank you for your time. Aaron

Where does it shoot at 50 yds? High or low.
You may not need another sight blade. CZ doesn't use a Williams sight front or rear from the factory. The standard CZ front sight is elevation adjustable.
Do you now have the Skinner rear 11mm dovetail mount on the receiver?

It shoots about 4 inches high at 50 yards with the front blade at its highest, skinner is receiver mounted. The rear sights used on cz 512 and some 455 is a williams wgos with a "u" leaf.

http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=507018 How would CZ in Europe end up with an American made sight on a gun made in Prague.

Now what is the height of your existing blade as CZ makes 4 different ones. #1 #2 #3 #4. They also can sometimes be aluminum but are mostly 90% are steel The rear is now a Skinner correct.

You should have somewhere about 23 sight radius. You will need approx .013" change in elevation to achieve 1" change in poi at 50 yds.. So that will need .052" total height change for 4". With my 455fs and a Skinner rear peep i put a small tig weld on the top of the front blade dressed it up re blued and got it to where the rest could be corrected with the rear adjustments by going up. You could confirm the new height by scotch taping a small length of 1/16" material to top of existing sight and shoot it at the range. Mine shoots great after the same growing pains. Don't recall the sight height today but I could measure it.
Hope this aids you in getting that shooter where you want it.

Perfect, thank you for that, that thread on rfc straightened out my confusion, and I also remember I have a peep that will fit in it too. I will measure it up in the morning and I'm pretty sure it's steel. I will try mig welding some more material to it. Even if I go a little extra, I can always slide the sight blade a bit lower.

If you are going to mig it clean off the bluing clamp it between 2 pieces of alum stock with a small amount of protrusion where u want the weld. This will help the heat problem with such a small item.If you are a competent welder you should be ok. .060" is a small amount. Cheers
