I have had a Kadet 2 kit for about a year(2000 rounds), fail to feed occurs about every 20-30 rounds with 36 grain bullets(Federal Bulk pack) or Eagle, and even some 40 grain(Remington yellow jacket), However the Remington 40 grain Target work almost every time, I have tried different lubricants and amount of lube and eight types of bullet but nothing seems to make a difference. Shooting 2 hand or limp wrist makes no difference also.
My GSG .22LR shoots everything without issue but I did polish the slide with 1000 grit on it when new and 40000 rounds later it still feeds perfectly, Should I sand my Kadet kit as well?
I realize fail to feed is just part of shooting .22LR but it is weird that Remington makes two 40 grain rounds and the yellow jacket functions the slide as bad as a 36 grain bullet.
the CZ is very accurate and my favorite gun in 9mm and .22 but with the shortage of ammo now it is hard to stock up on bullets for a fussy gun.

I use Remington Target (when I can find it) in my CZ Kadet 2 as well with absolutely no issues.

With the ammo shortage I've been using Winchester M22 in the black box. No fail to feed issues but about 5% fail to fire. They always fire after you pull the hammer back and try again.

Just saw this thread.
My Kadet kit on a Shadow feeds pretty much anything. Maybe a burr on the mags, light strikes I could understand. I never thought about polishing anything on it, might help. Order a new recoil spring, maybe it's a bit heavy from new.

Make sure you don't have the 13lb mainspring... It's a nice trigger pull but won't fire off .22LR reliably. I think the shadows are stock with 15lb springs though. CZ-75 does.

And Kadet tip #2: keep your magazines clean!!

Sorry to bring up a dead thread but how does one keep the mag clean? I just picked up a kadet pistol and it is super picky on ammo it almost works better on cheap bulk ammo . Another forum digest to file the angle of the extractor , I am just a little hesitant to do that

Pull off the baseplate, and remove the spring and follower.
Then use your favorite cleaner to remove all the gritty carbon residue from the DIRTY .22LR ammo.
Lube (dry graphite or Rem dri-lube) and re assemble. I almost guarantee that will get it to lock back on the last round.
Last thing you can do is stretch the spring but I would try that last.

Will that help with the stove pipes ? I just bought the kadet and put about 400 rounds it stove pipes every 20 to 30 rounds with Winchester 333 and the every 11 I could not get through a mag through the Remington golden buds ( which is what the seller recommended. It worked flawless for 300 rounds using blazer bulk pack. I gave it a good cleaning and am hitting the range today I will be curious to see how it works with thunder bolts and wildcats.

Hmm as for stove pipes I would look at the ejector to see if bent/worn. (Mine hasn't in over 10,000rds)
Or switch to different ammo.

I use CCI blazer with the wax coating almost exclusively through my kadet. Up until recently I've started using win 333 ammo. I seem to remember getting the odd stovepipe with it.

Stef, did you buy a conversion kit or a complete kadet pistol?

Maybe it just needs to be broken in with something like cci mini mags before it becomes more reliable with bulk.

Best 22 pistol and/or conversion kit I've used is the Sig P226 Classic or centerfire P226 w/22 kit.

22's are by nature, finicky and the ammo gets the firearm dirty quickly. P226 was the most reliable one I've used. Since then, I've gotten rid of 22lr altogether as I got sick of the caliber.

I got the whole pistol ... And at a great price I ran 500 thunderbolts through it 2 stove pipes 400 of them where the upper on my spo1 Canadian edition with the all the reduce springs it worked amazingly !!
