I am curious if anyone has experience of putting the kadet conversion kit to shadow 2?

the slide stop seems to be extremely tight and the slide is always locked back even without a magazine in it.
Even with a magazine in it and a dummy round in it, the slide won't slide forward unless I slash it forward.

I haven't fired it yet, but it seems the slide stop has some kind of shape problems.
without slide stop inserted, the slide moves well.
Can anyone share their experience?

I took a close look and figured that slide when locking backward it sits on top of the hammer. that prevents it from moving forward.
But the original 9mm slide has the same thing, also sitting on top of the hammer, and move forward without problem.

My theory is that the 22lr recoil spring is just not strong enough.
Anyone has similar issue?

never mind. I solved it myself.
For anyone who is interested.
The conversion kit slide is extremely tight on the barrel, specially when new there were some grease between them causing the slide cannot move smoothly around the barrel.
I cleaned it and oiled the outside the barrel heavily so that the touching part of the two pieces are moving like a butter now.

Only one minor annoyance, with the lighter Eemann main spring there is a lightfire 3-4 out of 10 times. I had to change back the manufacturer's spring and then since then no lightfire.
Not a big issue but just annoying.

I had to send mine to wolverine for fitting. The slide was so tight to the frame it wouldn’t even go on all the way. I also had an issue with light strikes due to a lighter main spring. I guess I just get to practice my DA trigger pull a little more often.

Good to know, thanks!
Is your Kadet kit the old style - metal mags, only the rear part of the slide moves? Or the new Shadow 2 style with an alloy slide?
What was the ET mainspring rate?

My Kadet 1 is way too tight for Shadow 1 and 2, needs fitting. It used to live on a Shadowline frame, worked fine with 13 lb CZ OEM mainspring.

Does anyone have experience with putting a Kadet kit on a Jericho? I recently snagged an IDF surplus model but my research so far tells me that the one that is most likely to be compatible is the conversion from EAA Witness since apparently they're more in Tanfoglio spec vs. CZ-75 / Shadow.

I believe my kit is new version kadet 2. It has alloy slide and comes with a dedicated the slide stopper. The original 9mm slide stop is a tad bit thicker which won't go through the hole on barrel.

The Eeman main spring I used was 9lbs, I am not sure the weight of original one I guess it's 11 or 12 lbs?

This guy has a nice write-up comparing kadet I and II. https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/original-kadet-vs-kadet-ii.1191765/
