Hmmm, I've started to contemplate the CZs ... mainly the Shadows.

Up to now, they seem nice. But I think there is more into them.:ninja:

As a guide into the CZ world, could you guys provide some explanations?

For instance:

1 - what are the main differences between the CZ 75 SP01 and the CZ 75 SP01 Shadow?

2 - is the CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Target on the USA website (http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/CZ_75_SP01_Shadow/) the same with the CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW on the Czech site (http://www.czub.cz/en/catalog/240-subcompact-compact-standart-competition-adapters/PST/CZ_75_SP-01_SHADOW.aspx)?

3 - Is this the Canadian Edition of the Shadow (the variant says "Canadian Model" which may or may not be the same with "Canadian Edition")?

Is there any link to it on a CZ website? If it's so much valued why does it look to be cheaper than the USA CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Target?

4 - what is the trigger pull weight and length for the Shadow? In DA? In SA?

Thanks!

Better yet, for an extra $100 or so, get a Tanfoglio Stock3. It has all the bells and whistles you need and a second to none grip stippling.

i personally know 3-4 individuals who own a shadow and are in love with it, but i own a cz 75 in 40.cal and another close friend has one in 9mm

basically what i'm trying to get across to you is just pick a model you like and buy it because you wont be disapointed

I recently purchased a CZ Shadow 9mm,and I can tell you it has the best trigger of any 9mm I have ever fired. This is an un-believably well made firearm....

I have a Omega which I absolutely love...I'll never get rid of it. However, I would really like to try out a Shadow as every review kicks butt! I better go check the balance of my bank account....

CZ SP01 has tritium night sights while the shadow has a rear target and front fiber optic. SP01 has a saftey instead of de-cocker.

Other then that pretty much the same gun

Ditto and, I just received my Shadow last week and have been at the range twice with it and I love it...I sold my Glock 17 to buy this pistol and I'm not disappointed not knocking the Glock it was a great firearm as well however I like the weight, grips and trigger on the Shadow much better, for me anyway.

I bought the my Shadow recently and have nothing bad to say - it was my first handgun purchase and after shooting my friends M&P 9 and P99 - before and after I made my purchase - I definately prefer the weight, trigger and the fit of the Shadow.

Shoot me a PM & we can meet @ The Shooting Edge sometime.

They have a CZ Shadow range-gun that you can "rent", but it's beat to sh!t.

You can run a few mags thru my new Shadow... B-Y-O-A ;)

The "plain" SP-01 does have Tritium night sights but the SP-01 TACTICAL has the decocker, the "plain" SP-01 has a left-side-only saftey and the SHADOW has an extended ambi safety.

Also the top of the "standard" Shadow slide has the "Shadow-cut" not an LPA (S/A only, custom Shadows), standard dovetail (SP-01 & SP-01 Tactical), or Novak cut.

Another difference between the SHADOW & "plain" SP-01 is the safety & slide itself (SP-01 has firing-pin block, Shadow doesn't), as well as the hammer/sear & trigger.

Finally, the magazine eject button is longer on the SHADOW by about 1/8". That's all I can thing off off the top of my head...

* and that Canadian Edition Shadow... WOW ! Felt like a finely tuned machine compared to my brand new Shadow. The Shooting Edge has a few.

;)

Great information in this thread. All the subtle differences are difficult to keep up with between the different models. I'm completely new to shooting and guns in general and am doing my research towards an initial purchase. I have decided to purchase a CZ and am deciding between the CZ SP-01 and the CZ SP-01 SHADOW. From what I understand the main mechanical difference between the two is the removal of the firing pin block on the SHADOW. I am just wondering if I should be worried about the removal of this safety since this will be my first gun. I assume I will just have to be more careful handling the gun. I was thinking about the Tactical but I think that I would prefer a manual safety rather than a decocking lever. Am I correct in believing that the manual safety pistols have a more responsive trigger as opossed to the decocking lever pistols? Do any of the more experienced shooters feel that as a first Pistol, it may be better to start off with one that has the decocker?
