CZ Magazine Tuning

I've been shooting for just over a year and have reached the point where I'm having some issues that I believe are Magazine related. Standard CZ Shadow mags as well as some E-Landers. Basically I occasionally get the odd round hang up on the feed ramp but it is always only the last round in a mag. Some others mentioned it was likely due to the mag lips spreading.

The issue has now popped up in both my Shadow and Shadow 2 so I'm guessing they were correct. I got out the calipers and found that several of the mags had definitely spread. Having never tuned mags before is this a delicate thing or just bang them back together type of operation? How would you correct them?

Magazines are consumable items that are much easier to replace than to fight with in hopes of stretching their life.

You can bend the lips back in, what i also found helped the tune ups last longer was to use the CZ compact mag springs as a replacement, they are a fair bit shorter but seem a bit stiffer so there is less round bounce when partial mags hit the ground.

I smack my practice mags with a brass hammer, make it so the round sits evenly below the top of the lips, like it does with new ones. That's it. I don't use measuring tools, I just see if the round is held firmly the length of the lips, if it can stand up anywhere along the lips, they need to be smacked in. simple.
