Hi Guys,

I just received a muzzle break for my cz858. Does anybody have experience with fitting it?

I have this model:

It took so much strength to screw it on. Halfway i try'd to loose it, i thought it was stuck. it took even more effort to get it off.

I think i can get it on with alot of force, but is this normal?

Is it possible the threads on your rifle or on the brake are really dirty?

My two brakes go on and off extremely easily.

I'd try scrubbing the threads really well, then add a little lube and try threading it on again.

There's definitely something abnormal if you are applying strength. Whatever it is, make sure you don't strip/damage the thread on the barrel. THAT would suck.

PatrickT, as a general rule, you should never try to screw in something if it feels like there is resistance.

Also, make sure you solve this before you shoot the gun. If you didn't screw it on straight, which is plausible, you risk irreparable physical damage maybe to you and cerrtainly to the firearm.

Hmn.. This sucks! Thanks for all the reply's. I bought it from dutch forum member. I'll try to contact him and ask about it.

Will clean it, but doesnt look that dirty. The thread cover screws on without any resistance.

lawn gnome; what do you exactly mean?

There is a small tab you need to depress while screwing in the brake. Then when you screw it in there is a notch on the brake that the plunger will sit in.

Yes, ok. It doesnt get that far. After the first twist there is resistance, and halfway it is stuck. I did just inspect the thread on the barel. There is a real tiny ding in the thread. That could cause the problem.

The brake from the photo is made in both 14x1 RH and 14x1 LH threads for AK Users. In Canada there is no really 14x1LH brakes around but if you buy it from overseas they might have confused the brakes

I live overseas :)

But if this is LH, i guess it wont screw on at all? I think it is a production fail.. Wrong threaded.

Will order a new one. Going to get it direct from Czech this time.

There are from two sources. There is no originals left, all originals were deep blued never painted. Whatever is sold is either Made in Slovakia, they are good quality and never LH thread or Made in China very often painted finish they are made LH or RH thread
