CZ O/U's-Any good?

The CZ O/U & SxS guns are re-badged Huglu shotguns (a Turkish manufacturer.) I don't own one, but they are apparently quite highly regarded for the price.

I looked at and handled both the O/U & SXS. I have not shot either of them.
Initial appearance of the fit and finish seams quite good for the money.
They both seamed to shoulder and swing well. My only concern is how well
will these guns hold up after 10's of thousands of rounds and the availability of parts and service 5,10,15 years down the road.
Having said that I own a couple of CZ rifles that are real tact drivers out of
the box. I have not had any problems, and the quality of the machining and wood is as good as a Remington or Ruger at about 1/3 more. Yes, I am a licenced Machinist and Wood Patternmaker.
See if you can shoot the one you are interested in. If the quality is any where
near that of their rifles you can't go wrong for that price. You could also get
a used Browning, Beretta, or Ruger for around the same price.
Just my 2 cents.
Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide to get.

In line with jeff g's input.......

You will find mixed reviews (positive and negative) on CZ shotguns should you do a search via Shotgun World forum (Stateside).....in view of the fact that those are relatively new products - not many folks have had a scope yet to closely inspect/use one. Moreover, those firearms, if you will, haven't passed the "test of time."

Main issues seem to be broken firing pins, bbl selector not functioning properly etc.

I own a couple of CZ sxs and one o/u.......haven't had any problems so far but then again it may be too early to say as I have used less than couple hundreds of shells through each so far.

As far as quality and finish are concerned - nice metal/woodwork for the price range. Balances well but then fit is detrimental to an indivdual's physic.

I am a staunch supporter of CZ rifles but their shotguns are produced in Turkey and there are apparently quality control issues.

For some reason, don't care much for Ruger shotguns (no offense to users)....although that new Gold Label sxs with the English stock does look appealing :)
