Mag capacity? Pinned? Crimped? Blocked?

I bought a conversion kit for my P-09 in 9x19. The magazines from what I can see are a true 10 round capacity (no pinning, rivets or crimps) like many .22lr magazines they have a thumb assist stud to make loading easier.

I only have about 500 rounds through it so can't give a comprehensive report, but so far functionality has been great. The kit I purchased comes with 3 recoil springs (subsonic, standard, high velocity) that you interchange depending on what ammunition you are shooting, I'm not sure if this particular SKU comes with the extra recoil springs or just the standard, I would consult NS or your preferred retailer for that.

Thus far the only issue I've noticed with my particular pistol is the .22lr magazines do not drop free, they must be stripped from the gun. I think the fact that my P-09 has an aftermarket cerakote finish has something to do with this and after some light sanding and a few cycles through the gun 1 of the 3 .22lr magazines I have drops free. The slide to frame fit while not perfect (cerakote could be affecting this as well) , is serviceable and should wear in over time. My frame has several thousands of rounds of 9mm through it so I wasn't expecting a glassy smooth fit with a brand new slide, but it's something to be aware of.

I've tested a wide variety of ammos so far and haven't had any reliability issues provided I'm using the appropriate recoil spring.

So far I'm quite happy with the kit, it fills the role of a .22lr semi-auto pistol in my collection without having to have another restricted on the books and is a lot of fun to shoot, and with ammo prices going the way they are it may start to see a lot more usage as I lower my consumption of 9x19 ammo.

Just a quick Range Report on the CZ P-09 Got mine a few days ago and had it to the range twice. First thing I will say is that it feels and looks like a full size pistol and of course that's because it's based on the full size 9mm version. If you have big hands as I do you will love this 22. I have had a handful of 22. pistols and many of them feel like toys in my large hands (ruger sr22, S&W M&P), but the CZ P-09 feels fantastic even with the Med grip. It came with 3 different size back straps , 3 different weight recoil springs and I love that the mags are the same size as regular double stack mags , so any standard mag pouch will fit. No need for specialized rimfire pouches . I've put about 200 rounds through it and had a couple fail to feed early on, but I believe it was my thumb rubbing the slide (first time out straight from the box, no cleaning). second time out after it's first cleaning and me keeping my thumbs where they are supposed to be it ran flawless. I was shooting CCI blazer, American eagle and some standard velocity agula. I'm very happy, as I've been looking for a 22. that feels like this for a long time. Happy to answer any questions about it, just PM me. Cheers
