For a first time shooter (my wife) which gun would be the wiser choice?
I'm not sure about the high sights on the compact but it has a smaller grip.
The full size would weigh a little more reducing recoil but has a longer grip.

longer or shorter grip won't be relevant. The better person to ask would be your wife, put them in her hand, she will tell you which one she likes more.

Just saw that these were available in the full size. Can anyone tell me how it is for someone with dainty hands? I would own a Shadow if it weren't for how far forward the trigger is, my fingertip barely brushes against the front of it, have to apply a lot of pressure from the side to get it to start sliding back on my finger before I can hook it and get my finger in front of it, figured that's not the safest way to operate it.

I have the P10F the grip has 3 backstraps to change. It's not any thicker than the P10C just longer because capacity is 19+1 for free countries. Unfortunately we are stuck with the long grip but only 10 capacity. The texture on the grip is fairly aggressive doubt it will slip out of your hand. Only grips which really are smaller is if you find single stack 9mm which there are a few.

The grip is very similar to the shadow 2 although it feels slightly slimmer and I have medium grip on P10F.

Holy ####. 5 replies and no one has said “just get a glock”. Good.

I like longer slides, plus doesn’t the F have minor improvements trigger or slide release-wise that addressed complaints from early C users?
I’d go F over C, but can’t go wrong with anything CZ.

P10C has ambi mag release, it functions different than the P10F. The P10C I've handled pulls the mag inward and up the magwell slightly before it release due to how it functions, making it noticeably a lot more stiff.
The P10F has a reversible but not ambi mag release that is a lot easier to push in. More like a Glock.
However, the grip length is extremely long. Awkwardly so, around 2cm longer than a Glock 17. If that doesn't bother you than go with the P10F
If you have the opportunity, hold both in hand. The grips will feel the same but its hard to get an appreciation for how long the P10F really is, but how much better the mag button compares.

View attachment 266084I got the 10F , the mags drop free super easy.
You’ll have no trouble reaching the trigger as I have the large back strap on and my finger still wants to go in to far:)
I’m choked up really tight under the slide.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will go with the F because I'm sure I'll shoot it more than she ever will. Also I'm not sure how I feel about the high sight and threaded barrel on the C version.

If your wife is a first time shooter and she has smaller hands then i would suggest either an mc28 ( which can be bought new for under 300 right now ) OR perhaps a glock 48 single stack.

The mc 28 is slim for a double stack 9mm and the trigger is not too far forward and is simple to operate especially if she has smaller hands. Not a lot of money invested and a good training pistol. Sights are simple 3 dot and it is striker fired and not too heavy. Also comes with three backstraps for fit. Right now on sale they are under 300 Can. on one of the site sponsors.

The glock is.....well it's a glock but a very thin glock being a single stack...double the price though.

The cz's are both great pistols but someone with small hands may not find them too comfy.

My advice is do whatever it takes to make HER happy......

The C version grip is about the same length as the P226 and P30, both are full size pistols - so the C is actually "normal". The F should be called "E" for "extra".

The reason for the grip length is to accommodate the 19 rnd mags that comes with the pistol.

They could've extended the baseplate and keep the footprint of the pistol smaller like on the M17
I'm not convinced they came up with the 19rd mag first and then extended the length of the grip to accommodate it.
I'm more inclined to think they extended the grip first.
