Just for grins, I bedded the reciever in my sons scout which has only one bolt holding the stock to the action, a short 16 inch barrel that is free floated, and took it out for a test run. ran several types of ammo through it, and it finally settled in with Eley ammo, after putting two shot in the same hole, almost, I fired a shot to the right of the test group then put the cross hairs on the hole, After a total of 6 shots this was the result. there were more goups like it but this is the only one I kept (taped it under the CZ rack at the local shop as a sales tool) I have always maintained that the scout is the best shooting of all the cz 22's. This does have a yo dave trigger kit, was wearing a Leupold vx2 3-9x32 in Talley rings. Bedding material is a secret. didn't measure it with the calipers, squares are an inch, in any case, for a $400 rifle and $13 trigger upgrade, thought it might be acceptable. coin is a penny, sorry for the bad photo, taken with phone Outside tear to outside tear 3/8, pretty windy day.

Can you please tell us how thick the secret material is that you used is for your bedding?
I wouldn't argue with you on accuracy but the is a concenses that feel the Full Stock rifles are the most accurate.
Now that you are talking bedding, I have an American I bought used and the previous owner had bedded and it shoots right with my Cooper 57.
I'll have to do a SXS test with the American and my Full stock some time. FS

Fassteel, Under 1mm. 0.71mm to be exact. Pm me if you need some to try :)). Just put a bit everywhere the receiver contacted the stock (3 places)

By the way I owe you a Thank You for the suggestion.

Looks like you two have a thing going:D

Mind sharing the rest of your little secret with us?

Hold'er steady when shoot'n. FWIW I took a quick break from work, threw my brief case on a bench and had a 1/2 full brick of Lapua 22 ammo which I put on top of the brief case and that was my rest for the scout, by no means stout. Not bagged. I am certain with a weaver t36 and bagged and a better shooter the groups would improve a lot.

Not even bagged...makes the groups more impressive then.

I wonder if you shoot cheap Winchester or Federal Bulk ammo. If you do, I'd appreciate pictures of your 50 meter groups as well. Cheap bulk ammo is all I use and you might have guessed, have never achieved groups like yours.

I believe it was also Fassteel (IIRC) who in an old thread, posted that in a Varmint, a leather or fiber spacer on the action screw between the wood and the action helped accuracy.

That is what I did, used thin leather, I tossed the target, it had about 14 groups on it, the eley sport were all like the one in the pic, american eagle were about an inch, cci minimags no better, lapua slightly better than the AE bulk red pack, winchester target, and rws rifle match nothing came close to the Eley, . I am no BR shooter, just a plinker. I have found this batch of green box eley to be very accurate in the CZ, thompson centers and some anschutz rifles, Lucky batch I think.

Hey Dizzy:

Interesting thread...I have a CZ American and have had great luck shooting RWS rifle and pistol match, but have yet to try Lapua or Eley ammo. I'm mostly shooting 50 yard and 100 yard bench or prone with a floated barrel and Yodave trigger kit.

What type of Eley ammo do you use?
