So, after several years of 1911-onlyness I have decided to give the Shadow a try and ordered the Cdn edition. I see that in the case I have
- recoil springs
- what I assume are main springs
- another spring
- shock buffers

The questions then are
- how can I know how many lbs is each spring?
- what's the short/single spring for?
- how many lbs are the installed springs?
- in 1911s shock buffers are a very debated topic; are they recommended in the CZ? How often should they be replaced?

Sure wish they'd put some info along with the various extras...!

The single short spring should be the firing pin spring.
Yes use shockbuffs worth it, and change when they start to shred, mine last over 10,000 rounds easily (they do get cut be remain intact for a long time) .
The springs are totally random it seems. Buy a spring testing kit from Murray, or hit S&D and use mine.
As for springs installed, usually they are the heavy ones so the guns will work with any ammo.
