I was thinking of buying a CZ Shadow, but I'm not sure if the Canadian Edition with worth the extra money. Can anyone explain the difference? Also, could I get the basic shadow, and make a few small upgrades to make it close to the Canadian Edition?

Thanks :D

Have been drooling over the Canadian edition myself... From what I've read, it gets a pro trigger job, and other rough edges are honed and de-burred before leaving the factory. Have read reports that the trigger is definitely nice, but certainly not something that is unattainable with a standard Shadow and a bit of gunsmith time.

The red grips and mags though... I'm not sure if you'll find an extra set of those =)

Seriously the difference between the 2 are one has red grips and magazine base plates and the other one is the same old shadow that people love without the stupid grips and high price.

cz shadow

I recently purchased a cz shadow, and I have to tell you it has the smoothest trigger of all my firearms (.45acp,9mm,.38,etc) I was so impressed with it I have recently ordered a cz97b to try the .45 version....

Usually north of 8.5# DA on a new (plain) Shadow. I didn't measure DA on Canadian but it felt right about 5.5#, may be a tad less.

Main differences of Canadian model - slide to frame fit is very tight (in good way), trigger is as smooth and light as on a well tuned and broken in gun, hammer has shorter hooks (and shape), it also felt as hammer sides were very smooth and/or polished.
Other note worthy differences are - rear sight with FO inserts, grip panels and SS guide rod - I personally don't care for all those. But, then again, I use TS wooden grip panels on my plain Jane Shadow :D

Man the girlfriend and I got to fondle a pair of these Canuk shadows in the local shop today........... Lets jut say their might be a pair in our future.
