Hi guys, I have the opportunity to buy a low round count used CZ SP-01 Shadowline.
I would not have the have the ability to handle the gun as it is and online purchase. I am wondering if anyone has shot a shawdowline and a shadow back to back? Is there a discernible difference in the trigger and/or fit and finish of the pistol?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
S.

The Sp-01 Shadowline is a real great gun. Easy to shoot and very accurate and all steel like all Shadows.

What you’re really getting over the SP01 Shadow will be the thin safeties and aluminum grips, which are honestly just personal preference finishes. I feel the trigger between the SP01 and Shadowline is too close to call, but I’m by no means an expert. The Shadowline is supposed to have a ‘trigger job’ - but that means different things to different people. Fit/finish will be the same, depending on who has cared for it.

I have a Shadowline and a Shadow 2, if you’re in Edmonton area you’re welcome to try them both.

Oh and my .02 is buy it - they’re awesome .

I have a shadowline and I love it. Im not sure I’d be able to tell a shadowline trigger from a standard shadow trigger. If the price is reasonable you won’t regret it.

Thanks for the info and the offers guys. I’m in the lower mainland BC so unfortunately cannot take you up on your generous offer justmessing.
The price for the used shadowline is close to the same price as a new shadow which has been on my list for way to long now. I was torn on which way to go with my purchase.
Many thanks again for the reply’s.
Cheers

I have a Shadowline and have tried a Shadow couple of times. I will take a 20% improvement on the trigger for the Shadowline. Thin Safety, new Hammer though the shape is not as appealing as the Competition Hammer, thin Aluminum grips among the upgrades made. Back in 2013, the price difference was $ 50 against the Shadow. You lose 1 mag (it came with 2 mags against 3 with the Shadow). I might also add a shorter reset in favor of Shadowline. Trigger pull is way better from the box. But a shorter double-action pull is still desired and I am just not sure how to do it. I have not fully stripped mine so I can check what kind of disconnect was installed. When I upgraded my 85 Combat, I chose to have a Pre-B Disconnect installed. Verdict: AWESOME. It took me a while to do some adjustment before I got the SA to work. Plenty of resources on the web regarding the installation of pre-B Disconnect. You just have to be patient in doing the fitting. Slavex and Canuck 44 are the best resource CZ persons here. ☺
