I have been shooting for about a year now. I've been shooting my G17 for about 10 months. Just in the last 2 months I've made some major improvements at the range. Took a while without any formal training, but I am finally becoming a better shot. I had a lot of trouble with consistency. Now at least everything is mostly grouping in a 6 inch pattern a little to the left at 15~ yards. It is a hard gun to shoot. But I respect the Glock and like a challenge. It really forces proper technique.
The CZ is reallllly easy to shoot compared to the Glock. "No #### sherlock. it's single action". The SA is really nice. Keep in mind all I have to compare this to is a G17 and a GP100. I even did pretty darn good single handed.
The DA also seems quite controllable. Though I didn't try it at the range tonight. How likely is round to go off letting the hammer down slowly? I don't want to make an ass of myself at the range or hurt myself.
Lastly, are there any techniques to shoot more quickly while staying accurate? I have improved by focusing on my trigger finger and making sure nothing else in my hands tightens up as I fire. I am wondering how I will ever be able to shoot quicker when I really have to focus and take my time to even hit what I am aiming at now.
I figure I just slowly work on these steps and gradually speed up as I become better:
1. Sight alignment
2. Trigger control
3. Follow through
4. Back to step one
