Hi there:

Does anyone know if we can ship slide to US for optic cut? No one seems to do it here on CZ 75 since it is deemed too narrow. Some US company said they can take Canada orders if I pay for return post. Just want to make sure it is doable. Like we have to let CFP know etc?

Thanks!

Contact Joseph Wu in BC, he cut my SP01 Shadow for a optic mount.

As a pistol slide is a regulated item, my understanding is that, yes, most definitely, to do it legally permits from both the United States and Canada would be required.

The 'US company', if a 'licensee', might be able to secure the necessary (American) import permit. Then, with that, you might be able to secure the neccessary (Canadian) export permit.

I dunno...it has been my personal experience that it cannot be imported from the United States without an IIC issued by DFAIT, but perhaps it won't require an export permit exportation to the United States... which is why I included the qualifier, "...my understanding..."

To be safe, one would want to check with both ATF and Global Affairs.

Thanks, guys. With the origin from Canada, "export" back from US shouldn't be a problem but may involve red tapes and paperwork ( headaches). I have asked CFO in Ontario. Let's see what I hear back.

Thanks, mister. I just modified a Shield RMS/SMS plate to fit the 407K I have. Hopefully the dot without the circle will do the trick. The Shield SMS I got was a 1 moa dot with 65 moa circle ( terrible sight BTW). There isn't enough elevation adjustment when sitting on the plate. Will contact Joseph it this doesn't work out.
