cz too shiny?

never was real happy with the painted finish on my cz, just added fab grips and stock...looks great except the paint is too glossy.
should a guy just scuff the paint with scotch brite or superfine sand paper? or scuff it and put a flat clear overtop? would the clear coat stick?
what do u think?

Maybe polish with fine or super fine steel wool just to break the gloss.

Any type of clear coat will add a certain amount of gloss to it. Most people send there 858's to Murdoc for the Arma-Coat treatment. Altough if you wanted a do it your self cheapy way of doing it. Sand it, wipe it clean with xylene, then grab a can of flat enamel and bomb it. Dura-Coat and Krylon to most people use. Although for the $ nothing beats the sand blast then park and toped off with the ceramic coat paint job from Arma-Coat.
