I picked up a new V22 a while ago and just got the Ar to go with it.

This is a brand new V22upper this is the first time it has been on a lower.

It chambers a round just fine but it doesnt even leave a mark on the rim when fired. If it does anything at all it might leave a little grease mark on the rim were the fireing pin touched it.

It seems that the part that the hammer hits is flush with the bolt face and the hammer never really strikes it.

Here are some pictures to illustrate click on them for huge versions.

The hammer is a standard AR-15 hammer you can hear it hit the bolt face and with the pins out you can see that it is touching the bolt face but it seems that the upper is the fault. I think that the firing pin is to short.

I bought it via a private sale from a guy in st catherines a few months back and I have since lost his contact info to find out were he got it from.

Im trying to find out who does all the warranty work for them as it was brand new in a sealed box.

Call Marstar and explain. Doubt you'll get any real problem buying it second hand but stil NIB.

I have found the problem it is not the upper or fireing pin at all it is the hammer. My hammer does not look like a normal hammer it is not flush all the way to the tip.

The cut out part is cut in the exact way that this upper needs it not to be.

Anyone know were I can get a hammer that looks like one of these?

I have gotten a new hammer trigger and disconector. The upper now fires but it appears that the trigger is in need of some tuning. The hammer catches on the disconnector but when you release the trigger somtimes the hammer fails to catch the ear and fires a second time.

It doesnt go full auto it catches if you release the trigger quick enough but if you hold the trigger down it almost always fires once the trigger is released.

check out ar15.com they have assembly directions and ar FAQ's. make sure you assembled everything correctly (or was assembled correctly by however put it together)

Everything is put together correctly as far as all the guides I have read show.

I have two disconectors one engages and never lets go and the other doubles. maybe its time to dig out a fine file and get the disconnector to hld properly.
