Cz/vz wire folding stock vs beaver Barf?

So I've had a cz858 for a long time now with the beaver Barf stock and I do enjoy it. It's a little short but it's a consistent cheek weld and I've never had a problem

Lately I've really been digging the looks of the factory folding stock.

For guys who have tried both which do you prefer? How'd the cheek weld on the folder? Is it loose when opened?

Basically I really want it for looks and badas$ery but I don't really want to sacrifice performance. Thanks in advance.

IMO, neither is comfortable really, but the folder is of course hard on your cheek unless wrapped in paracord or insulation foam.

Lockup is normally pretty solid on the folder, folded or not, but if you get one that's been used and abused, it'll wiggle and there's little you can do about it short of replacement.

Really does not matter for recoil as buttpad is more or less of the same size and shape. For cheeckweld use paracord on folder. Other aspects such as getting into small door of armoured vehicle or the balance when held with one hand while reloading during action I guess don't matter now.

The folder is fine when shooting .223, but not so great with 7.62x39. You will shoot better with a full stock, but a folder would make the NR model easier to transport. Mine is new, so no wobble or flex.

There's other folding options than just the standard wire folder

Here's an AKFX folder on stormwerkz adapter. I find it is high for iron sites. It can be adjusted for height but I find when you mount it too low it rubs on my hand

Here is the AKFX on my new build. Folder mech isn't installed cuz it's at the shop having another stock modded to fit it. But will be installed on this build. BC tactical upper handguard

Here's the D-force tactical. Zahal is selling this now. It's rock solid. Quality.

Also sold by zahal is this M4 folding stock. All metal hinge

Yet another alternate is the CZ factory overmolded stock that I believe is current issue.

I have one that I bought 3 years ago that feels exactly like the solid stock in cheek weld and length of pull - with folding capability.

Factory folder isn't comfortable when shooting, no cheek weld whatsoever. It looks cool, but isn't practical. I liked the beaver barf or much better - actual wood. Actual wood is a little heavier and seemed to balance out the weight of the rifle. Just felt better to me. I got a larger and thicker wood pistol grip off of Ebay too, stained it to match - so much more comfortable than holding the tiny stock grip.

Of course, now you have many more options than the two you've stated.
