I was
asked about bedding the CZ. There was nothing special about bedding it. I did make sure that I had ample clearance around the barrel from muzzle end to the front of the receiver. I then relieved the wood where the receiver touches it all around.
This is a B4 picture. I drilled the hole where the bolt fits thru slightly larger to accept a steel pillar that would bottom out as close as possible to the reciever. I relieved the wood along the sides with a deep socket and 100 grit. I used a Dremel tool to remove and roughen up the tang area. If you look at the picture it is milled out flat and the receiver is round. If anything bedding the tang would definately be beneficial in supporting the tang area.
I prefit the barreled action into the relieved stock and put tape around the barrel near the front of the stock till it sat the way I wanted it buy using a level.
I removed the trigger by knocking out the front and rear pins. Filled all holes with putty. Painted it with a few coates of the liquid furniture wax that I use for bedding. I also removed the dovetail attachment from the barrel.
I should note that I kept the bottom metal in place when I bedded it so the pillar would bottom out against it.
Mixed the Marine Tex and installed the pillar then painted the stock with the compound. Set the barreled action in place and lightly threaded the bolt into the reciver to make sure it was centered. Let cure.
Sitting curing
After initial bedding. Did not have enough compound in the corners of the tang and forgot to do the front part of the receiver.
After second bedding and B4 final cleanup. The thing with bedding the CZ is the compund around the pillar. Fill it in really good. After it cures you will have to remove quite a bit of it on the trigger side and the magazine side of teh pillar or everything will not fit. Just use the sanding drum on your Dremel. This is what it should look like when all is said and done.
You can see where I removed the bedding compound from either side of the pillar.
I cannot see any movement at all of the barreled action in the stock when I try and twist things. I do not use the bolt that is attahced to the dovetail in the barrel. I removed it and am running with just one bolt. As I said I see no movement at all.
