Picked up the rifle on Thursday, quickly mounted a Nikon Buckmaster Scope (6-18x40) using Burris .22 Signature rings, dovetail is 11mm built-in. Shot about 60-100 rounds thru it @ranges between 25 - 50 yds

CZ 452 Varmint .22lr (Czech Made by Ceska Zbrojovka)
Caliber: .22 LR
Weight: ~ 7 lbs
Barrel hammer forged, heavy 21"
Street Price: ~$500

Scope/Mounts:
Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40mm
Burris .22 Signature Rings (3/8")
11mm Dovetail built into receiver

The good:
-Accuracy (overal good groups - it was cold and windy hard to concentrate)
-Very ergonomic, well balanced with a solid stock
-Slick bolt operation, very smooth
-Barrel cleans quickly

The Bad:
-Trigger is a little on the heavy side and suffers from a little creep
-Composite magazine feels flimsy and cheap but loads and feeds well
-11mm dovetail makes for hard to find mounts

Nice little review.

Sure you've heard of the Brooks trigger kit? Makes a wold of difference. ht tp://cz452.com/ Best $15 I've spent on a gun.

Steel mags are available but hard to find and $$. Try the forum at rimfirecentral. They can hook you up.

11mm mounts aren't too hard to find but not as common as many. Airgun outfits seem to carry them. Must be common on pellet guns too.

So why test an expensive rifle with cheap ammo?

Find out what works... I had my custom 10/22 and it ran beautifully with Winchester Wildcats.

Ran 14 different kinds of stuff... Best performers.. Win Wildcat (cheap) and Eley Target Rifle.

You never know what will work in what gun...

Good review....

I have the same rifle with both the metal and plastic magazines. I prefer the plastic ones as they are smoother to load and insert into the gun. Neither type has ever given me a single problem. It is a great rifle!

Surprisingly of all the ammo I shot out of mine, it like remington .22 game loads almost the best.

One brand of Eley ammo would outperform it, but only by a very very small margin, and it was 5 times the price. The cheap stuff actually out performed all the rest even the eley tennex.
