Here's a picture of a recently new to me CZ453 Varmint in 17hmr with fluted barrel. I installed it into a Boyd's Tacticool stock that I just bought. I was amazed it arrived in 4 days from the states over Christmas. It's the magnum model stock, and need inletting for the larger trigger mechanism on the 453, and also some other areas that needed channels cut for the receiver. I'm displaying it here with a set of rings that I dont' intend to use. I was surprised when the 3/8" Talley's I bought didn't fit. It seems the fluted 17hmr is an exception to the rule, and has 11mm rings. It's a real solid feeling rifle and with a fair bit of heft to it. The stock seems well suited to shooting with a scope, off hand. From the chisel work for the inletting, it would appear the receiver area of the stock was made from a laminate. That should be pretty durable and stiff. It also appears they made the stock from two pieces and joined it at the rear of the main receiver peice. For a $90 stock, I'd recommend it.
