Hey guys-been back and forth on the idea of adding a 22WMR back into the collection, and considering the available options...it may well be a 457 if I decide to get one. Having now had some trigger time with one in .22LR, I really like the feel/short cycling time of the bolt-accuracy ain't bad either! ;) Really starting to warm-up to these new CZs.

Anyhow, I've owned a Savage 93FV in 22WMR, have shot another Savage in 22WMR as well as a couple of Marlins. None of them (in my hands) could print under 1" reliably @ 100 yards, as I've mentioned a number of times when people ask about the caliber.

Recognizing the ammunition is the main limiting factor, and that CZ/Marlin rimfires are very different animals when it comes to build quality, I'm hoping those with 457s in 22WMR might chime in with some good news. I could see myself holding-off and saving for a CZ if I thought it held more accuracy potential than a Marlin. (my second choice) Just not sure if I'd be getting more than just better build quality with the CZ? A Marlin might be the better choice considering how limited it's use will likely be. Still, I'd rather reach for a CZ.

Thoughts? Any 457/22WMR target photos/range reports? Again, not time-sensitive. This purchase (if it happens) may be after Registry #2 gets flushed down the toilet.

See???!? I really AM an optimist. Making plans for when the registry is abolished, AND, hoping to find an accurate 22WMR=both in the same thread! lol

I had a 452 American in 22wmr. I got the odd 1” groups but more consistenty 1.5”

Still deadly on gophers out to 125yrds.
