I collect a few parts and proceeded to put them together last night as a build.

I'm sure I'm missing something on this one because I'm left with a small gap of may 2-3 cm between the receiver and barrel where they should be completely touching.

Here's the parts:

New cz457 22wmr receiver and bolt
Near new 18" cz457 match 22lr barrel.
New cz457 mtr stock.

After many videos watched I thought I could easily change calibers.

Why the gap between action and barrel?
Is this because of the match grade barrel on normal receiver?

Thanks for any advice

I dont own a CZ but after watching the video I do agree it should be pretty easy. It looks to me like maybe the barrel is getting hung up on those Allen bolts somehow or somethings not right.

Hopefully you get it sorted asap!

do you by chance have any photos of it disassembled ?

Make sure the grub screws are far enough out, or take them out completely. Insert the barrel, then put them back in.

When I swap my 455 barrels 22lr for 17 HMR, I need to apply a small amount of pressure until the barrel click in. I do pull the set screws completely out

Two possibilities come to mind. The first has already been mentioned -- the barrel retention screws may not be sufficiently screwed out.

The second is a little more troublesome. Either the barrel tenon is slightly oversized or the receiver is slightly undersized for the barrel. Some CZ users suggest using a blow dryer to heat the receiver. (The idea behind using a blow dryer is that it shouldn't risk overheating the receiver.)

Update.
My bad, After a little lithium grease and more pressure the barrel seated it self.

So no issue using a match barrel with standard action.
Thanks to all that replied

So a match barrel and normal receiver works.

I've tried to post my results a few times.

So after some grease on the barrel and more muscle to seat the barrel it seated.
Thanks for advice to whom that posted.
