Curious if anyone has done any tests to compare the CZ457 Varmint vs the 457 Match Grade MTR in regards to accuracy.

Let me know your experience

I had the opportunity to shoot the MTR Match and compared to my Varmint and yes, it showed some better groups but it is minimal in my opinion.

Base on experience, mtr barrel and varmint barrel both have same tight group with sk lrm under 100yd. Varmint barrel have more flyer may be 1 out of 50rds. Mtr barrel should have more accurate result over 100yd and better performance with ammo over $15 a box.

Not exactly apples to apples but I have a 457 At-One with the match chamber (20") and I also have a 452 Varmint. They both perform very well at 100yds , the only difference being the 457 is not as picky with ammo. Most higher dollar SK or Eley will produce 1" groups at 100yds with the Varmint preferring SK Rifle Match (yellow box) over any others. TC

I would be willing to bet that it's a barrel lottery... some are going to shoot good and some are going to shoot great, you could easily have a 'match chambered' rifle that gets out-shot by one with a 'standard chamber'. Buy 10x of them, shoot them all and keep the one that shoots the best... but don't be surprised when 'next month' the 'stars of rimfire' don't align and it doesn't shoot as good.
