Just thought I'd share some results that I am getting with my new CZ457 MTR . I haven't shot any rimfire for about a 1 1/2 years so it's been super fun to start thinking about this stuff again . Today was really the first time out with reasonable wind . 3 groups shot with 3 different ammo . SK Biathlon Sport clearly had more velocity then SK Standard Plus and SK Rifle Match .

Thanks for sharing. I recently picked up an MTR too and an still experimenting with ammo. Only have about 250 rounds through it but no FTE’s or malfunctions of any kind.

Honestly , the trigger on my rifle is perhaps the very best single stage trigger I've ever had . I've been able to get it into the oz's with very little effort and completely safe . It's simply fantastic ! Rivals the 5098 trigger on my Anschutz MPR . Super impressive .

My rifle does not care for low cost ammo . If I am shooting a 1/2" bull target like what is pictured , Auto Match , AR Tactical , Mini Mag , etc , etc , simply will not get it done . CCI SV is a bare minimum on a low wind day . Even that is iffy . This is not surprising . You get what you pay for . Better ammo yields better results . Consistent performance , not cherry picked groups is what I'm after .

To illustrate the effects of wind and the importance of flags consider this image . Lapua Polar Biathlon ammo shot this morning . Had a pretty good ragged hole going , until …. , I missed a 180 degree wind direction change just as I touched the trigger . On the last shot no less . This wind direction change was not detectable at the firing position . Ahh , the joys of rimfire :)

That's happened before to me too. I had a great 25bull target going for me and I popped a shot down into the 8 ring. Unbelievable. The 'Wind Witch' is not our friend! lol
Looks like the Polar you got is working. ….good guess about the range TrxR!
