Looking to mount a 1" tube 50mm lens scope on a CZ 457 Varmint. Highest rings I have is a set of Burris rimfire high Part # 420076 and they are just a little too low.
Wondering what other rimfire guys are using? Any ideas and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The obj. bell is 2.265" O.D. I have High now and need something higher. Who makes something higher than Burris High?

My Bad here Bob, I missed the part you already had Burris High rings and attempted to mount the scope.
I know Leupold makes a Super High set of rings for center fires...so maybe a rail with center fire slotted rings rings (weaver style) ?
Again, I thought I had a solution, but obviously my reading comprehension was off.
Somebody is going to be along soon with the correct solution.
Good Choice in rimfire rifle....hey, head over to rimfire central those guys are rimefire nutz over there !!
Tight Groups,
Rob

1 inch tube, going on a 22lr, are they the burris signature zee rings with offset inserts?

if not, id recommend getting a cz 25moa rail and signature zee rings with inserts, if you want to shoot out to or past 200m/y.

Agreed, if you get a rail of any sort, could probably get away with medium rings.

Even with a rail I'd recommend high rings, provided you have an adjustable cheek piece to get a proper cheek weld.
I have a rail and medium 30mm MDT rings on my MTR and there isn't much room between the bolt handle and ocular. Wish I had gone higher.

MDT claims that their rails are a 'Product of Canada' (if that is a consideration).

I run a tikka T1X but for what it’s worth I have found the area 419 rails to be awesome quality and fitment. I run the 419 rail with MDT medium rings at 1.0” height. My Athlon scope runs a 30mm tube. I could have managed if they were a touch higher as well but I don’t have an issue getting alignment with it.

Bob, I'll vote for the A-419 rail, too. I have a 30-MOA one on my VMTR, with the 'bubble-level' and I've found the level gives a bit more accuracy. I also have an Athlon 8-34x56 and Burris XTR ring-set so I can use various inserts for diff distances (x-long range). If I focus on a target at 100 w/o using the bubble, then shift to the 'bubble' I find a slight movement of the crosshairs. * One thing - you should try to get the best ammo you can afford/find. I can't find SK of any sort online or nearby, and that's the 'best' for VMTRs from what I've found (and read). My best shots were with SK-Rile Match, but I've read that SK-Pistol Match Special does very well for some. I haven't found any of that available. Center-X did very well, but I only had a couple boxes and I'm not ready to drop $30+ for more. ;-P

That's my only beef with the CZ 527 the bolt lift is so high that you need high rings no matter what scope you mount, I have a 1" leupold 3 - 9 x 40 mm and had to put high warne rings on it so the bolt clears

Well, I just picked up a set of medium Warne ring for my CZ 457 American in the 22 mag and have plenty of clearance for my bolt when cycling round. The scope is the Bushnell Trophy 4-12 x 40 mm and still have around 1/8" clearance between the barrel and the front cap.

There is a huge difference between a 457 and a 527 in more ways than one.

Here's a pic of my VMTR with the A-419-30MOA and Athlon 8-34 x 56 using "generic Medium" rings, plenty of room for the bell and the bolt is cleared easily. The third pic is with Burris rings, showing lots of bell clearance with 56mm bell & flip-cover.
